What,Why,and How E-marketing important?

E-marketing has brought many significant benefits to business organizations; for example, E-marketing can spend lower costs for the distribution of information and media to the target audience. companies can promote their products to the worldwide audience for a small part of traditional advertising budgets. In addition, the results quickly come back after they are promoting products by using E-Marketing. Because Internet is easier to analyse than communication media, companies could easier to evaluate business quickly. According to the report of Internet world stats, Internet user is over 1.5 billion in 2008 and it has increased in recent years. It is important that further people using Internet and meanwhile further customers are using Internet. The companies will get more potential customers by E-Marketing.

Under this circumstance, as Atwong and Hugstad (1997) said, implications for marketing education from the rapid growth of the Internet: that Internet-rich marketing curricula and Internet-savvy marketing graduates would more successfully compete in their respective marketplaces. According to the findings from Linrud and Wilson (2004), students with some background in electronic commerce do appear to be identifiable from other students. Nearly forty percent of companies expected to hire someone with an e-commerce background in 2005 and 2006. Given the uncertain e-economic environment of the early twenty first century, students with a strong traditional foundation along with a basic appreciation for, and understanding of, e-commerce should been well positioned for launching successful marketing careers.

E-marketing impacts all aspects of marketing from strategy and planning through the marketing mix, marketing communications, buyer behavior to marketing research. Moreover, it is ideal for business owners, managers, marketing personnel and sales teams in small to medium sized organizations, particularly those looking to expand and grow their business online.

According to internet marketing is evolving rapidly. E-marketing module should be contained both theory and practical. The theory should be the fundamental principle of marketing and how it can be applied for e-business. Also many case studies from the successful company or internet marketing experts will be useful. Moreover, which is also a characteristic of successful Internet Marketing, is working in groups. “No matter how good we are at some things, we can never be good at everything. And I honestly believe that anyone seeking success with Internet Marketing who doesn’t form a mastermind group such as this, is holding themself back”(Timbrocklehurst 2009). For the practical learning, student should be given some workshops such as making their own website or building their own blog and promote it to public so they can get real experience and skill to solve a problem.

E-marketing module is usually found as a part of marketing management. There are many sources or text books provided for student, business owner or anybody who want to learn or broaden their e-marketing skill. Also there are many websites about marketing on the internet which we can learn many e-marketing tips in those websites by ourselves outside the class.
In addition, World of marketing made the move into new media while education about e-marketing is an emerging subject. Marketers can not rely on just the old school marketing techniques to get ahead in the new media world. E-marketing would be useful to anyone who is interested in new media or currently working within this environment. Thus, mostly existing marketing courses can only take you through theoretical practice. E-marketing is new territory for most traditional marketers, who have to combine existing strategic and tactical tools with the interactive nature of the new online channel. E-marketing modules should provide an overview of e-marketing and its dynamic opportunities. A master’s course on e-marketing will not only increase or develop skills and knowledge, but also provide evidence of ability to propose e-marketing plans using different e-marketing tools.

However, how can we apply e-marketing to industries? Take my company for instance, my company is wholesale and retail in jewellery now we try to use the Internet website to promote our new product because the customer can order our product in the website and save cost that they do not have to come to visit my shop every month or year to see new product. By using e-marketing, It can save the cost of promote or send the sample. Therefore, e-marketing nowadays should be important in many industries for finding the way of distribution and save the cost.
